How to Enable Screensaver on Apple TV 4K
You can use the remote key combinations on your Siri remote to enable the screensaver on your Apple TV. The process is simple, but it differs for each remote model.
- 1st Gen Siri Remote: Hold the Menu button on your Siri remote. It will take you to the Home screen. Press the Menu button two times to enable the screen saver.
- 2nd Gen Siri Remote: Hold the Back button on your remote to bring the Home screen. Press the Back button twice to turn on the screen saver.
How to Change Screensaver on Apple TV 4K
Once you enable the screen saver on your Apple TV, you can choose your desired photos to set as screen saver on your Apple TV.
Change Screensaver from Apple Photos
Apple has provided stock images on your Apple TV for screensavers. You can choose any of those pictures as your screen saver.
1. Head to Settings on your Apple TV once you turn it on.
2. Under the Settings section, select General.
3. Click Screen Saver and then select Type.
4. Tap Apple Photos, where you can choose any image from Apple’s library.

5. Choose any image you want under Apple Photos and select it.
6. Return to the General section and tap Preview.
Now, you can preview the selected screensaver on your Apple TV. If you don’t like the one that you’ve selected, you can choose another according to your wish.
Change Screensaver from My Photos
Apple TV allows users to set custom images as screensavers on the Apple TV. Instead of choosing Aerial or Apple Photos, set your album picture as a screen saver. Before that, ensure your custom image is at the appropriate resolution.
Note: The custom image should be at a ratio of 16:9 and with a screen resolution of 1920*1080 pixels. Meanwhile, to set up your album image, you have to transfer the photos from your device to iCloud.
Also, ensure that the Apple ID you use on your device and the Apple ID on your Apple TV are the same. So that you can sync and install the images on your Apple TV. If you use a different account, then you have to add the account and sync them.
1. Open Settings on your Apple TV by using the Siri remote.
2. Under settings, select General.
3. Now click Screen Saver and then select Screensaver Type.
4. Pick the My Photos option, and it will display the pictures from the synced album.

Change Aerial Screensaver

1. Press the Home button on the Apple TV remote and select General.

3. Select Aerial and click the Menu button on your Siri remote.
4. Select the Download New Videos option and choose any options from Never, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.

How to Set Transition & Start Time to Screensaver on Apple TV
Besides customizing the screen saver, you can also set the start time. You have access to customize the screen saver, such as adding a transition to video or images.
1. Launch the Settings on your Apple TV and navigate to General.
2. Select Screen Saver, and you will see an option called Transition.
3. Now select any transition that you prefer.
